In 2022, I had the incredible opportunity to collaborate on the Budding Sounds Project, created by the talented composer Robert Coleman, who beautifully integrates the sounds of nature into his compositions. This inspiring initiative brought us to three schools here in Dublin, engaging children aged 9 to 12 in a unique blend of music, in 2022environmental education, and hands-on action.
As active member of Climate Love Ireland, my role in this project was to share essential environmental knowledge with the students, exploring topics like the water cycle, the atmosphere, soil, plants, and the wonders of photosynthesis—offering a deeper understanding of how our environment works. I also contributed artistically by creating an artistic installation as part of the project experience. Together, we also planted trees at the schools, and each student received a tree to plant at home, fostering a personal connection to nature and sustainability.
We delved into discussions on environmental activism, empowering the next generation to care for our planet and take meaningful action. Witnessing the curiosity and enthusiasm of these young minds was truly inspiring.
Projects like Budding Sounds remind us of the harmony between art and environmental stewardship, and I’m deeply honored to have been part of this impactful journey.
